PARTNERSHIP STORY:LGU Cantilan turns over 3.7M-worth digital materials for public schools

In exact number of 453 TV Sets, 276 USB Flash Drive and 1 Unit Risograph and 5 Photocopiers were turned – over to Cantilan 1 and 2 Districts last October 7, 2020 at Cantilan Gym, attended by the Municipal Local School Boards, District-In-Charge, school heads and Local Chief Executive, Hon. Carla L. Pichay in a bid to support the education of the learners in this new normal.

KWENTONG DISTANCE LEARNING: Unspoken heroism

A 40 year-old woman was eyed teaching under the Cacao tree at Tapa, Cantilan during the home visit conducted by the School Head of Cantilan Pilot School ,Tuesday, October 20, 2020.

Mrs. Rutchel F. Zarate, married with six children is known of helping her neighbors rendering free tutorial services every after school.

“I really love teaching children especially the least fortunate ones”, she said while carrying her one year-old daughter during the interview. “I could feel their dire need to be educated”, she added.

DepEd- SurSur Welcomes New Superintendent

The Department of Education (DepEd)- Surigao del Sur Division formally welcomed the new Schools Division Superintendent Josita B. Carmen, CESO V on October 25,2019 during the Management Committee Conference at Shacene Grand Ballroom, Tandag City.  It was at the same time her installation and acceptance of the key of responsibility from the former Superintendent Dr. Marilou B. Dedumo, CESO V.

ENHANCING READING SKILLS SurSurDiv kickstarts Brigada Pabasa

Superintendent Josita B. Carmen, CESO V, led the launching of Surigao del Sur Division’s Brigada Pabasa in response to DepEd Memorandum No. 173, Series of 2019 which is Hamon: Bawat Bata Bumabasa (3 Bs), on December 6, 2019 at the Division Office Conference Hall.

Along with the Superintendent during launching were ten (10) CID Education Program Supervisors (EPS), thirty-seven Public School Supervisors/District In-charge, SGOD and OSDS personnel.

RECALIBRATING QUALITY TEACHING Instructional Supervision holds SurSur’s Top Priority

In the advent of the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST), Surigao del Sur Division gears toward recalibrating Instructional Supervision (IS) to ensure that quality teaching will be lodged to schools and learning centers. Part of this recalibration is the intensive review of the PPST implementation for the past two years and the massive roll-out of the next 12 PPST indicators that will commence next school year.

CID Sets for the Division Unified Quarterly Test

Division Memorandum No. 502, Series of 2019 was issued by Schools Division Superintendent Josita B. Carmen to inform the field of the Division’s unified testing for the Third and Fourth Grading Period.

A Poll of Test Developers was organized by the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) Education Program Supervisors which is composed of Master Teachers and select experienced teachers from the field.

The first in the series of writeshops started at San Pedro Country Farm and Event Center, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur on November 26 to 28, 2019.
