The Department of Education (DepEd)- Surigao del Sur Division formally welcomed the new Schools Division Superintendent Josita B. Carmen, CESO V on October 25,2019 during the Management Committee Conference at Shacene Grand Ballroom, Tandag City.  It was at the same time her installation and acceptance of the key of responsibility from the former Superintendent Dr. Marilou B. Dedumo, CESO V.

The said activity was attended by the Provincial Governor, Hon. Alexander T. Pimentel, Mayor of the Municipality of Cantilan, Hon. Carla L. Pichay, OIC- Asst. Regional Director Arsenio Cornites, Jr, CESO V, Division Office Personnel, Elementary and Secondary School Heads and Guests.

SDS Carmen expressed in her message that she will bring her best lessons learned and best practices from her previous assigned divisions. She ensured the internal and external stakeholders that she will take her part and effort to provide the desired services to all the clienteles, especially to the learners. She added that she will act in adherence to the mandate of the department.

Meanwhile ARD Cornites also challenged SDS Carmen to bring Surigao del Sur Division to the highest level of performance and to motivate and inspire everybody to achieve a harmonious relationship within the organization.

Moreover, Gov. Pimentel also underscored that the Provincial Government is always ready to back up resources for every endeavor that the division will undertake specially in the realization of its goals and objectives.

To recall, SDS Carmen, who happens to be a native of Surigao del Sur, was assigned as the Asst. Schools Division Superintendent of this division in 2006-2009. Then assigned as the Schools Division Superintendent of Dinagat Islands in 2009- 2013, Butuan City Division from 2013-2015 and the latest was in Bislig City Division from 2015-2019.
